Best Skate Parks in Morocco

Skateboarding: More Than Just a Hobby

Still relatively unknown in Morocco, skateboarding is far more than just a recreational activity or a means of urban transportation. It is a fully recognized sport on a global scale, having gained Olympic discipline status in 2020—a testament to its evolution and worldwide impact.

An Emerging Generation of Skaters

Since 2017, skateboarding has seen remarkable growth in Morocco, especially thanks to the creation of the Fédération Royale Marocaine des Sports Urbains (FRMSU). This federation not only oversees skateboarding but also other urban sports such as rollerblading, freestyle football, parkour, and scootering. Alongside its efforts, modern infrastructures dedicated to these sports have emerged, including nine areas specifically designed for skateboarding.

Among these facilities, the Nevada Skatepark, inaugurated in 2018 in Casablanca, stands out as the largest skatepark in the country, offering a high-level training and practice space for skating enthusiasts.

Skate Spots Across the Kingdom

Skateboarding is now spreading throughout Morocco, from major cities to smaller towns. Beyond official skateparks, many smaller “spots”—often found in alleyways, playgrounds, or public parks—allow passionate skaters to practice their sport freely.

Cities like Rabat, Salé, Témara, Kenitra, Agadir, Taghazout, El Jadida, Mohammedia, Oujda, Marrakech, and Tangier now offer spaces adapted for asphalt gliding. These areas are attracting a growing community of young skaters, helping to popularize this urban sport across the country.
